Operating since 2001, the wind farm consists of 16 triblade wind turbines expressing a unitary capacity of 0.6 MW, adding up to a total installed capacity of 9.6 MW. The wind farm is connected with the electrical substation in Montefalcone di Valfortore (BN), which performs voltage step-up and power delivery.
Energy is produced at Low Voltage (LV) by a generator inside each wind turbine; it is subsequently transferred to the internal control panel of each tower and then on to a cabin (machine cabin) at the base of the plinth, which houses electrical panels and a transformer to convert electricity from Low Voltage to Medium Voltage (20/30 kV).
The energy is collected at Medium Voltage by means of an underground cable network. An underground duct connects the MV/LV cabins, and then goes on to the Station in Montefalcone, where the energy is transformed and enters the public grid at 150 kV voltage.
