People at the centre

We consider human capital as a key element for the creation of value and for maintaining a competitive advantage, even more so during this current moment of strong energy sector transformation. We therefore promote the maintenance of high levels of employability, enhance the internal growth of our resources, pay close attention to diversity and inclusion aspects and promote well-being at work through a robust company welfare programme and work-life balance initiatives. Health and safety in the workplace is a priority and an ongoing commitment.

Our commitment to health and safety

We consider the prevention of occupational health and safety of our people, of people working for our partner companies, and, where relevant, of people living in the territories surrounding our plants and company sites, to be of priority importance, by eliminating the relevant risks or reducing them as much as possible. In 2021, we revised our Health and Safety, Environment, Quality and Sustainable Energy Policy in which principles and commitments to achieve goals in these areas are outlined through the identification and implementation of specific action plans.

Employability: the value of training

We support the development of our personnel in order to guarantee their employability and expand their relevant skills to achieve business results and promote their career advancement.

Plurality and inclusion: the power of involvement and the energy of diversity

The energy that changes everything is our people. For us, in fact, it is important that everyone feels like the primary protagonist in the company's success: this is why we involve our people in wide-ranging projects, enhancing their different roles and skills through increasing autonomy and responsibility.

Well-being and work-life balance

We promote flexible work models based on individual responsibility as a choice of organizational effectiveness, attentive to the needs for balancing work and personal and family life.

Again, during 2021, as a result of the emergency situation generated by the pandemic, the number of people who worked in smart working mode was considerable, while the company's communication initiatives across all levels, including remotely, were maintained with the aim of keeping an open channel for listening and communication between the company and its people.

Through the Edison per te welfare and people care programme, we meet the personal needs of our persons with services and opportunities regarding family matters, health, sports and well-being, leisure time and savings. In 2021, about 88% of the group's Italian employees who were offered welfare services has taken advantage of them. On average, each employee has benefited from 7.3 services.

Building a sustainable energy future together

As a responsible energy operator, we intend to do all that we can as a leader of the energy transition for our customers and suppliers and for the communities and territories in which we operate.
