The wind farm was completed in three subsequent phases: the first 24 wind turbines were set up in 2001, followed by 9 in 2004, and by a further 11 in 2005. They add up to a total of 44 triblade wind turbines, each of which has a capacity of 0.6 MW, making a total of 26.4 MW installed capacity.

The wind farm is connected to the electrical substation in Celle San Vito (FG) which performs voltage step-up and power delivery. Energy is produced at Low Voltage (LV) by a generator inside each wind turbine; it is subsequently transferred to the internal control panel of each tower and then on to a cabin (machine cabin) which houses electrical panels and a transformer to convert electricity from Low Voltage to Medium Voltage (30 kV).

The energy is collected at Medium Voltage by means of an underground cable network. An underground duct connects the MV/LV cabins, and then goes on to the Station in Celle San Vito, where the energy is transformed and enters the public grid at 150 kV voltage.

DETAILS

The wind farm is located about 1.5 km away from the residential area of Faeto, between the mounts Difesa and S. Vito, at an altitude ranging between 850 and 990m above sea level, in a landscape characterised mostly by herbaceous crops and grazing land.
