Milan, July 22, 2004 - Please note that the data released yesterday by “financial sources” and published today by some newspapers are the actual data for all of 2003 and not those for the first half of 2004, as incorrectly indicated. As previously announced, the performance of the Group in the first six months of 2004 will be reviewed by the Board of Directors at a meeting scheduled for July 28, and the preliminary data will be communicated promptly to the financial markets.
