Deploy your talent

For the ninth consecutive year, we are partnering with the School and running the Deploy your talent project to promote the study of STEM subjects and combat gender bias in these areas.

Edison's commitment to Deploy Your Talent, a CSR Europe project promoted in Italy by Sodalitas, continues into 2022. Businesses and senior secondary schools are teaming up to find alternative ways to raise awareness among students, especially girls, and break down the cultural barriers that keep girls away from technical and scientific subjects.
Another aim is to help people understand how a solid STEM education can make a difference in finding a job and advancing your career.
Edison will participate in the project this year in partnership with a fourth-year class from Liceo Marignoni secondary school in Milan.
Edison and the school will organise training and tutoring initiatives and work on a final project in the form of a short film.

The project

According to a study by European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE), closing the gender gap in education in STEM disciplines (science, technology, engineering and mathematics degrees) could lead to an increase in employment in the EU from 850,000 to 1.2 million by 2050, thus contributing to an increase in per capita GDP of between 2.2 and 3 percent.
Encouraging the study of these subjects is not only an economic issue, but a cultural and social one. This is why we have decided to support, for the fourth year in a row, the Deploy your talent project: a European initiative promoted by CSR Europe and developed in Italy by Fondazione Sodalitas.
