Born in Varese (Italy).
Master’s degree in Civil Hydraulic Engineering from the Polytechnic of Milan.
Edison Spa
Chief Executive Officer of Edison Spa since 1st July 2019, is also Chairmen of the two group companies in charge of selling electricity and gas (Edison Energia) and energy services to the industrial and public administration sectors (Edison Next). He also chairs the centre for economic studies Fondazione Edison and the non profit company Edison Orizzonte Sociale.
Joined Edison in 2000, as head of international development, and oversees Edison’s entry to the electricity generation market in Greece, the development of gas interconnections with Algeria and Greece and the start-up of gas import and sale activities in Spain.
In 2007, he became head of development of the Exploration and Production division and, in 2009, following the acquisition of the Abu Qir gas field in Egypt, he came Head of Operations in North Africa and Middle East. In 2012 became Executive Vice President of the Exploration and Production division and member of the Executive Committee of Edison Spa.
In 2017, he also assumed the position of Executive Vice President of EDISON’s Power Asset and Engineering divisions.
Previous professional experience
In 1999, at Pirelli Cavi e Sistemi, oversaw the project for the integration of the international sales network of the cables division of Siemens, acquired by it.
Between 1996 and 1998 he worked as marketing and sales manager at Ansaldo Energia and from 1997 to 1998 was resident Regional Manager in South-East Asia.
He held various positions from 1989 to 1996 in the International Development department of of Snam Spa and from 1991 to 1993 he was resident Area Manager in Argentina in charge of the tenders for privatisation of the local gas networks and the development of the Argentina-Chile gas interconnection project.
From 1994 to 1995 he was project manager of a technical assistance programme financed by the EU and implemented through a JV with Gazprom for the assessment of the reliability of the Russia-Europe gas transportation system.
