Edison e SPP sign Memorandum for cooperation in security of supply of the Slovak Republic
Rome, June 26, 2023 – Edison and SPP announce that today they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation in the gas and liquefied natural gas sector (LNG), in order to increase Slovakia's diversification and security of supply.
The signing took place at the Slovak Embassy in Rome, on the occasion of the visit of the President of the National Council of the Slovak Republic Boris Kollar, in the presence of Ambassador H.E Karla Wursterova, SPP Board member Peter Kučera and Fabio Dubini, Edison's Executive Vice President Gas&Power Portfolio.
Under the agreement, SPP, the main Slovakian energy operator, and Edison, which owns one of the largest and most diversified long-term gas portfolio in Italy, undertake to explore possible synergies for accessing the capacity of regasification from LNG, to allow Slovakia to open new supply routes from the South and West, thus strengthening the security of the European system.
