On June 28, 2017, we inaugurated our new Pizzighettone power plant. We returned to the Adda River, where our history in hydroelectricity began.
The mini-hydro power plant
The new Pizzighettone power plant is fully integrated into the territory of the Adda Sud Park, thanks also to its underground structure and the presence of a fish ladder.
Mini hydro represents the future of the sector in Italy: energy from large reservoirs is already being harnessed through existing power plants. And that's not all: mini-hydro plants are safer due to the smaller volume of water in the reservoir, and have a lower impact on the environment and landscape.
