Sport for inclusion

All inclusive companies must also promote the principle of inclusivity externally. Sport is an important part of this in that it promotes core values such as respect, team spirit, loyalty and sacrifice.

Community rugby - partnership with ASRugby Milano

For several years, Edison has supported the AS Rugby Milano Association, which runs projects designed to promote inclusion from a young age. The Made in ASRugby initiative aims to get people playing the sport for the first time, while Sport senza Frontiere [Sport without Borders] promotes participation among Romani children.

Running alongside these activities are Rugby in carrozzina [Rugby in a pushchair] and initiatives oriented towards those in prison, including Il senso di una meta [The sense of an objective] at the Beccaria juvenile prison in Milan and Rugby Bol at the Bollate prison.

In 2017, a project was launched to make the Association’s sports centre and main events more sustainable, starting with the famous Capuzzoni Tournament.

Insieme per Haiti – Milano Marathon with ANPIL

The ANPIL Association has been supporting the programme for the past two years, helping to combine solidarity and sporting competition. Edison has been a partner of the ANPIL Association since 2010 in the context of the Insieme per Haiti [Together for Haiti] project, which aims to improve living conditions for children.

Through the Play sports association, some of our employees took part in the Milan Marathon in April this year. The runners were raising money for the renovation of a school on the island of Tortuga, off Haiti, which has over 500 pupils.
