Cologno Monzese thermoelectric power plant

How the facility works

This is a combined cycle thermoelectric power plant, with an overall installed capacity of about 50 MW (full condensation, under reference conditions), co-generating steam for the paper mill Cartiera di Cologno Spa and for Italgas Spa, which provides teleheating services to the Municipality of Cologno Monzese.

Electricity is produced at 15 KV and is fully input into the National Transmission Grid.

Environmental protection and safety

An SME, i.e. a continuous emission monitoring system, is in place to gauge the concentration of NOX, CO and O2 in the fumes. The system can calculate the hourly and daily average concentration levels to allow compliance with the authorized limits.

CO emissions from emergency boilers are continuously monitored, while NO emissions are scanned.
