Activities in Italy

Since the early 50s Edison has played a leading role in the Italian hydrocabons sector thanks to remarkable activities and discoveries: the gas field at Cellino (1958), Portocannone (1963), the Vega oilfield in the Sicilian channel (1981) and the takeover of Rospo and Sarago oilfields in the Adriatic Sea in 1998.

The Italian activities are managed by two districts: Pescara (Adriatic offshore and Northern Italy) and Siracusa (Sicily).

Currently, Edison has 60 concessions and permits in Italy. In 2015 Edison produced 485 MBoe (million barrels of oil equivalent) and 2,546 thousand barrels oil production in Italy.
