The Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) system, instituted by EEC Regulation 761/2001, is a
voluntary environmental and industrial policy tool aimed at promoting constant improvements in the
environmental efficiency of industrial processes. Under the new EMAS regulation, all organisations
- and no longer production sites alone - can take part in the new scheme with a level of
environmental performance corresponding at least to the applicable legal standards.
The EMAS declarations on all of Edison's business sectors are available
only in the Italian
version.
